We can tell that, many certain behaviors are accompany by other behavior of another individual, which is favored more. They all follow Jack because they trusted him as a hunter, they thought they had to protect themselves from the fear that haunted them. Here when Jack ordered hist tribe to kill Simon which is mistaken to be the beast, Ralph and Piggy joined in. If one does something the other will follow. We was scared!" ( Lord of the Flies ,2006, p.156 ), while this quote here projects that, they all act as a unit group. Also later in the chapter, When Jack warns everyone not to get close contact with Ralph's group they all obey, cause they knew that if they don't obey Jack like the others boys, they will be punish by Jack.

As we can see here, the boys just started to follow each other without knowing what to do. "Do our dance! Come on! Dance!" ( Lord of the Flies ,2006, p.151). For example, because Jack has meat, this cause many of the other boys to just follow others to join his tribe, leaving Ralph, Simon, Piggy and Samneric. In the novel, Lord of the Flies, mob rule crowd mentality was help promote all the boys to savagery. Another example, "We've got to have some rules, around here"( Lord of the Flies,2006, p.33), Ralph as chief is very aware of the boys nature and hole a meeting to set up rules to ensure their survival right away. Also this anarchic situation, strongly projects that the boy is in need of civilization to maintain order. For example, "Acting like crowd of kids!"( Lord of the Flies,2006, p.38), this presents that the boys are chaotic to deal with, not following rules and order, but doing whatever they want. Not only that it plays essential role in blacken the book, but it was also developed through the major character, such as Jack. The more the savage the boys get, the more the theme, need for civilization is obvious to the reader. This theme play major role in Lord of the Flies, by helping the savagery to lighten up, making the book even darker. When the boys were stranded on an island, rules break and they slip towards savagery. The need for civilization was one of the major theme in the book, Lord of the Flies.
